My degrees are from New York University and CUNY Queens College. I have a master's degree in English and Education, which I believe gave me the best possible preparation for teaching literature and writing. My background in English combines literary theory, feminism, and composition, among other things. I stay abreast of trends and technologies in education, as well as searching for new materials. I use proven strategies for guiding students to release their own creativity and produce their own content.I am dedicated to teaching writing. It is a discipline vital to any subject, necessary for learning, and a tool for individual development and influence. At any writing level, I focus on teaching the student to think critically in order to write well. Many students seem to view writing as either a routine or as something they lack the talent and inspiration for. I try to show them that writing is power they can control with an organized process that implements planning, drafts, and revision. When students realize that writing skills are achievable, they are able to find their voice and use the power of the written word.In my free time, I enjoy museums, ballet, reading, and modern art.
